Raju's bail plea hearing postponed to Jan 22

Hyderabad, Jan 19: Ramalinga Raju, man behind the Satyam fiasco will remain under CID Police custody till Jan 22. The Hyderabad court has also deferred the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to interrogate Ramalinga Raju to Jan 22.

The court, a short while ago heard the bail plea of Raju, his brother Ramaraju and Ex-CFO Srinivas Vadlamani.

On Sunday, Jan 18 the Raju brothers and Vadlamani were interrogated by the CID Police. Though the trio cooperated well with the Police, they did not disclose any information that will help the investigation.

The trio, accused in the over Rs 7,000 crore Satyam scam, were taken into custody by the CID at Chanchalguda jail at about 11.45 am on Sunday after a medical examination at the jail itself.

Raju was brought to CID office at about 12 noon on Sunday, Jan 18. CID sources said interrogation of the trio began at around 12.30 pm and ended at 5.40 pm as court directed police not to question the accused after 6 pm.

"During the five hours, they were questioned only for two hours. The CID questioned them after 2 pm after lunch. They were interrogated separately with a prepared questionnaire in the presence of Satyam counsel,'' an official said.
