Don't place India's security burden on Pak: Gilani
Islamabad, Jan 18: The burden of India's security should not be placed on Pakistan, opined Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Saturday, Jan 17. He was quick in responding to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's statement on Saturday, Jan 17 that Pakistan should completely reveal all the facts relating to the Mumbai attacks.
In his sharp response to Singh's statement, Gilani said that India can voice its opinion but it should not place the onus on Pakistan. "The Prime Minister of India is entitled to his views. However, instead of placing the onus for India's security on Pakistan, we expect the Indian government to respond positively to our proposals for pragmatic and constructive engagement on countering terrorism. We have on our own initiated a series of actions," said Gilani.
However, Pakistan assured fair investigation even though its citizens are suspected. It said it will share its information with New Delhi first. We need a cooperative engagement with India, Gilani said.
