We will reply to Indian dossier in a week: Pak

Islamabad, Jan.15: Pakistan will hand over the response of India's dossier of evidence on Mumbai terror attacks within a week, reported The Nation, on Thursday, Jan 15. “Pakistani response is almost prepared after prolonged consultations here among the Foreign Office, Interior Ministry and other security agencies and it is being given a finishing touch," the newspaper quoted a senior Pak official, as saying.

“The response to Indian dossier would be handed over to New Delhi in a weeklong time after approval of the President and Prime Minister," the official added. The official said that the Indian dossier was examined very minutely by the Pakistani authorities, and it would hand over the reply in the same manner.

He however, rejected to accept the Indian dossier as evidence against Pakistan, calling it 'scanty and insufficient informations." The official declined to divulge details of the Pakistani response, but said that it described the Indian 'information" not something that could be produced as admissible before the court of law as a piece of evidence.

Reiterating the offer of a joint probe into the Mumbai attacks, the official said that it was the only solution to reduce the escalating tension between the two countries. “Pakistan would once again repeat its offer of joint probe into Mumbai attacks with a plea that it was the only workable solution to Pak-India standoff," the official said.
