No birthday gifts, only cash for Maya!
Lucknow, Jan 15: 'Please don't bring birthday gifts but don't forget to give cash in the form donations'. This is the punching line of Bahujan Samajwadi Party's logo for its supremo Mayawati's birthday. Today Mayawati turned 52. Party members who wanted to celebrate in a big manner are disappointed as Maya refused to cut cake!
Mayawati decided to celebrate her birthday in a simple manner after courting controversy when a party official allegedly killed a PWD engineer Shekar Tiwari, who refused funds to give for Mayawati's birthday. Now Maya has become extra cautious.
She is known for her extravagant birthday bashes. Usually for her birthday, cakes weighing more than 50 kgs would be cut. Collecting funds was a major task for her birthday. Mayawati's birthday have always been in the eye of much controversy.
Hence 'No cake' this birthday. Though she is not cutting her 'birthday cake' she will definitely become richer this birthday. The party has decided not to collect money from top industrialists brass but from 'common man'.
The BSP's common enemy Congress and Samajwadi Party will stage protest against Mayawati on Thursday, Jan 15. It is their gift to Mayawati for her birthday. “Mayawati has always supported those who take money in the name of her birthday. Cong is running a signature campaign on this issue," said State Cong President, Rita Bahuguna Joshi.
Wow Maya, What a Birthday!
