Washington, Jan 13: After World Bank banned Satyam, the apex monetary institution has hired Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to do the work previously done by Satyam. "We have hired Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to do much of the IT work that Satyam used to do," a World Bank spokesperson told.

There were allegations in certain quarters regarding World Bank targeting Indian IT Companies. But, Tata Consultancy Services making a competitive bid bagged much of Satyam Projects proving the above allegations false.

World Bank on Monday, Jan 12 revealed that three other Indian IT companies apart from Satyam have been debarred from doing its projects. Satyam has been debarred for 8 years (beginning 2008), Wipro (beginning June 2007) and Megasoft Consultants (beginning December 2007) for four years each.

In all, the World Bank has debarred as many as 111 companies and individuals from across the world from doing or bidding for its projects.
