Satyam CFO Vadlamani attempts suicide
Hyderabad, Jan 9: Bad news continues for Satyam Computers. If the reports are to be believed, Srinivas Vadlamani, the chief financial officer (CFO) who is also allegedly involved in the company's fraud, attempted to commit suicide on Friday morning, Jan 9.
However, he is said to be safe. He attempted suicide in the house of some relative in Ameerpet area, sources said. Confirmation from the police about the incident is still awaited.
Disgraced former Satyam chairman Ramalinga Raju in his letter of resignation to Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) and the company"s board of directors admitting fraud, had not absolved the CFO. In the Raju's list of those 'unaware of the real situation' and the company's wrong-doings, Vadlamani's name was missing.
On Jan 8, press conference interim CEO Ram Mynampati had said that Vadlamani had given resignation but the decision on his resignation is to be taken in board"s meeting on Jan 10. The CFO has been absconding from his home in downtown Malkajgiri for the last two days.
