In 2008, Audi India sales rise three fold
Mumbai, Jan 7: German luxury car maker Audi on Wednesday, Jan 7 reported a sale of 1,050 units in the country in the year 2008. The sale has raised to three-fold compared with the sale of 349 units in the 2007.
The company posted over two fold rise in its sales in Dec last year at 76 units as against 31 units in the year-ago period, Audi India said in a statement. "The year 2008 has been an exciting time for Audi India as we not only have achieved, but exceeded our projected targets despite the overall slowdown in the automobile market," Audi India Managing Director Benoit Tiers said.
Last year, the company had launched two models in the country -- luxury sedan A4 and the sports car R8. The company opened a showroom in Mumbai on Wednesday, Jan 7.
