Truckers on indefinite strike from Jan 5

New Delhi, Jan 5: After the talks with the government failed, trucks all over India launched an indefinite strike over cutting cost of diesel prices. However the transporters said that the strike will not effect the vehicles carrying food articles and other essential commodities.

The demand of the transporters are that the diesel prices should be cut by Rs 10 per litre and withdraw the service tax on them. This will allow free movement of trucks across the country.
