LeT operative to be produced to court today
Mumbai, Dec 31: Fahim Ansari, Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) operative who is in police remand in connection with the 26/11 attacks will be produced in court on Wednesday, Dec 31. The Mumbai Crime Branch will ask for an extension of his custody.
Police suspect that Fahim had links with the terrorist who carried the heinous crime, Attack on Mumbai. Fahim Ansari was arrested by Uttar Pradesh police in Feb for the attack on a CRPF camp in Rampur. Hand drawn maps of Mumbai's significant landmarks were recovered from him, during his arrest.
Fahim told that, he was trained with the LeT for ten months at the Baitul Mujahideen camp under the supervision of Zaki-ur-Rahman Lakhvi. In his confession, Fahim revealed that he came to Mumbai in Oct 2007. He estimated important locations in south Mumbai. Photos and videos of these locations was later used by the LeT.
