Will import 125 cr worth modern arms: Ashok Chavan

Mumbai, Dec 30: Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan, said to media on Monday, Dec 29 that the Union government has approved the state proposal of importing modern arms worth Rs 125 cr. The Union Home Minister P Chidambaram has also issued a letter giving instructions on various security issues, he added.

Chavan said that as per the instructions a high level home department meeting was held. The Maharashtra CM also promised to do his best to regain the confidence of people who were shocked by the gruesome 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.
