London, Dec 29: Are you a connoisseur of cake? Read this yummy piece of article and relish. Bakers in Bucharest decorated a new page in Guinness Book of World Records for baking the world's heaviest cake, weighing 619 pounds.

The fruit-and-cream cake, adorned with the Romanian and European Union flags along with reading 'Happy New Year 2009', had been commissioned by the capital for the annual winter festivities.

Thousands thronged to grab the bite of the big and tasty cake. First in the queue were children, who had come to feast their eyes on the gigantic treat. The record came after two other bids for the longest sausage and biggest Christmas give-away.

Bucharest set a record for the world's biggest-ever Christmas give-away, after 3,939 people dressed like Father Christmas to distribute gifts to children in the streets. What a treat and feast for New year!
