NC emerging largest party, seeks support from Cong
Srinagar, Dec 28: In one of the most keenly-contested democratic exercises in the history of the State, Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections seemed to be headed for hung assembly.
The National Conference (NC), is emerging as the single largest party. It might stake a claim to form the govt in alliance with the Congress. The results of counting according to IST 2.45 am, are as follows
National Conference: 30
PDP: 20
Congress: 13
BJP: 15
Others: 9
"We will approach the Congress. We always had good relations with the Congress. There is a lot of scope for Congress and National Conference to come together. We represent entire state," said NC party President Omar Abdullah.
"Yes, if the current trends of leads in 27 seats hold momentum, we will approach the Congress which is a like-minded party. We will approach the Congress to form the government," he added. Expressing his satisfaction with the good show by the NC, Omar said the party can now only go forward.
