Ex 'Face of Asia' model's mum says her daughter would never have committed suicide
London, Dec 24 (ANI): The distraught family of former 'Face of Asia' model Sahar Daftary, who fell 150 feet to her death from a luxury apartment block, insists that she would never have committed suicide because it's against her Muslim beliefs.
Daftary, who won the Face of Asia contest in 2007, fell from a 12th floor flat in Salford Quays, Manchester.
Initial findings suggested Daftary's death appeared to be either a tragic accident or suicide, police sources said.
However, the mother of the young Muslim fashion model says that she would never have committed suicide as it's against her religion.
"I don't believe my daughter would have done this herself. It is against her religion," the Sun quoted her mum Anisi, as saying at home in West London.
Daftary is thought to have visited the flat to collect her belongings after pulling out of a fashion show earlier in the day, claiming ill-health. (ANI)
