Midlands UFO invasion was actually fleet of cheap flying lanterns!

London, Dec 21 (ANI): A string of bright lights in the West Midlands sky, which were misunderstood as UFO invasion by locals, were nothing but just a cluster of cheap flying lanterns released by school children.

The lanterns were released into the night sky last night during a children's carol service at a nearby primary school in Halesowen.

However, the dramatic array of bright lights left residents mystified as they saw a "long string of lights" travelling across the sky.

Stunned locals then contacted local UFO enthusiasts, who were convinced the sightings among the stars in the bright sky were genuine.

"They said these things are seen on a regular basis and usually follow the paths of motorways," The Sky News quoted resident Steven Randall, of Hunnington, Halesowen, as saying.

However, a deeper probe into the origin of objects revealed the objects as dozens of 'magical' Night Glow Flying Lanterns, let off by children celebrating carols by torchlight at nearby Lutley Primary School in Brookwillow Road. (ANI)
