Brit baby girl saved by Viagra

London, December 20 (ANI): A baby girl born measuring the length of a pencil and weighing only 1lb 10oz is breathing life because of Viagra.

Ellie Prior had undergone four major operations and spent over a year in intensive care fighting against a potentially fatal surge in blood pressure known as pulmonary hypertension.

Doctors had prescribed the impotence drug for the tiny tot after doubting her chances of survival owing to her frailty, reports the Daily Star.

Ellie, who is on a ventilator to help her breathe, had been given the drug since it contained sildenafil citrate that helps reduce the heart's workload.

The miracle baby, who has spent her first 15 months in hospital, had grown stronger and weighed a healthy 20lb and was allowed to be sent home to celebrate Christmas.

Her 21-year-old mum Stacey Sheppard, of Ryhope, Staffs, could not wait for the special day to take her daughter home with her.

She said: "We just can't wait. She's doing a lot better and the doctors are pleased. We're hopeful she'll be able to breathe on her own eventually." (ANI)
