Pressure mounts on Palin to react to racist Govt. e-mails about Obama
London, December 19 (ANI): Alaska Governor Sarah Palin's critics are demanding that she respond to the circulation of racist e-mails about U.S. President-elect Barack Obama by staff members in her state's government.
The state's information technology division has revealed that one of the e-mails concluded: "Another black family living in government housing!"
"It's embarrassing to the state," the Telegraph quoted Administration commissioner Annette Kreitzer as saying.
She revealed that she had reported the matter to Palin's office.
Palin's spokesman Bill McAllister said that the issue concerned individual actions taken by a handful of state employees among thousands.
However, the Governor's critics are very disappointed over her failure to condemn the circulation of such e-mails.
The Rev Alonzo Patterson, state chairman of the Alaska Black Leadership Conference, said that it was time for Palin to address the mails.
"They're doing that in a state setting. She should condemn it," he said.
Palin has already faced flak for her failure to distance herself from threatening remarks made towards Obama during her at her recent election campaign rallies.
Some commentators even termed her own rhetoric racially-coded, when she said that Obama was "not one of us" because he "palled around with terrorists". (ANI)
