Petition against Geo TV for running Mumbai Terrorist story
Lahore, Dec. 19 (ANI): The Lahore High Court (LHC) has received a petition against the owners and the staff of a Pakistani national TV channel for airing a story that claimed that Ajmal Kasab was a resident of Faridkot
Acting Chief Justice Mian Najamuz Zaman on Thursday admitted for regular hearing a petition seeking registration of a case against the Geo TV channel for running a story about Ajmal Kasab.
Sardar Hur Bukhari, a Pakistan People's Party leader, had filed the petition. The petitioner submitted that the Muslim Town police had refused to register a case against the channel, the Daily Times reported.
He complained that the report damaged Pakistan's image at international level and also gave an opportunity to the Indian media to propagate against Pakistan.
He urged action to be taken against Muslim Town station house officer and superintendent of police concerned for not registering a case of an anti-state activity. (ANI)
