JI asks Pakistan government to stop "shameless" supply of logistics to Nato forces
Peshawar, Dec. 19 (ANI): The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has criticized the Pakistan government's move to supply logistics to the NATO and United States troops stationed in Afghanistan.
Addressing a rally at Suekarno Square, JeI chief Qazi Hussain Ahmed termed the entire operation to be 'shameless'.
Qazi said that US forces were killing innocent people in the name of countering militant activities in tribal areas.
He also blamed Pakistan government for succumbing to the US and Indian pressure for allowing supplies through Pakistan.
JI chief expressed his fears over Pakistan's nuclear program being hampered due to US presence in Afganistan. "US presence in Afghanistan is a serious threat to Pakistan and its nuclear programme," Qazi said.
JI also criticized Awami National Party (ANP) led provincial government for the killing of thousands of innocent people in military operations in the Tribal Areas and Swat.
Qazi Hussain Ahmed credited his party for urging government to take peaceful measures after Mumbai terror attacks, the Daily Times.
"When government called us to form a consensus opinion on the aggressive Indian posture after the Mumbai attacks, we asked to stop the military operations in Swat, Bajaur and Mohmand agencies and other areas, as peace would remain illusive as long the operations continue," Qazi said while the participants were carrying placards and chanting anti-US slogans.
