Missing Pakistani's wife appeals to Obama for help
Washington, dec.15 (ANI): The wife of a missing Pakistani has written to US President-elect Barack Obama, asking him to help find her husband Masood Janjua.
Amina Janjua, the chairperson of the Islamabad-based Defence of Human Rights, has claimed in the letter that her husband was abducted on his way to Peshawar in 2005.
According to Aasim Qureshi, a human rights lawyer in Britain, who held a news conference in Pakistan on December 4 this year, Masood is detained in Pakistan and is not being released because of the CIA's involvement.
According to the Daily Times, Amina has appealed to Obama to have the CIA put her in touch with her husband.
Janjua writes that she had no idea her struggle to find her husband would lead to the formation of a group called Missing Persons in Pakistan, which has listed over 600 persons who have disappeared without trace.
She said that she has attached a list of those persons with her letter, all honourable citizens of Pakistan abducted by Pakistan's intelligence agencies.
She blamed the shortsighted policies of the Bush administration and the Musharraf regime for her personal predicament, saying that both had destroyed respect for the rule of law. (ANI)
