Kasav was earlier held by Indian agencies

Islamabad, Dec 15: A Pakistani lawyer, C M Farooque has claimed that Azam Amir Kasav, lone terrorist captured alive in the Nov 26 Mumbai terror attacks, was a Pakistani citizen and was arrested two years ago in Kathmandu by 'Indian agencies' with the help of Nepal.

Kasav was arrested along with 200 people when he was on a business visit to Nepal, said the lawyer. Farooque told Geo News channel that he had filed an application in Nepal's Supreme Court for seeking Kasav's release and claimed the court had sought a reply from Nepali authorities and the Indian High Commission in Kathmandu.

The lawyer fumbled repeatedly when Geo News asked crucial details about the case. He could not give specific answers as to when he had filed the application in Nepal's courts. He said he had filed it 'sometime in early 2008' and then claimed he had filed it in February this year.Farooque was also vague about the time when Kasav was arrested, saying he was apprehended 'before 2006'.
