Mumbai attacks: ISI-LeT link so strong, it can be seen as a state actor
Lahore, Dec.12 (ANI): The Mumbai terrorist operation signals a delicate moment for Pakistan as the links between Pakistan's intelligence service and LT have been so strong that it is feasible to view the latter as a state actor, a Rand Corporation analyst has said.
According to Christine Fair, a security consultancy analyst, said raiding the camp was Pakistan's first response to United States calls for action against militants tied to the Mumbai attacks.
Jamaat-ud- Dawa is a charitable organisation that the US State Department says is a front for the militant group, Lashkar-e-Tayyaba, the report said.
Quoting a Pakistani official as telling the Wall Street Journal, "We are taking action based on the intelligence given to us," the report suggested that there would be more operations against militants in the coming days. (ANI)
