Rajiv Mathur, new Intelligence Bureau chief
New Delhi, Dec 9: Prime Minister's Office (PMO) on Tuesday, Dec 9 appointed Rajiv Mathur as the new Director of the Intelligence Bureau (IB). He is currently Special Director of the Intelligence Bureau.
IPS officer of 1972 batch of Uttar Pradesh cadre, Mathur replaces P C Haldar who retires on Dec 31. He has been appointed as an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Intelligence Bureau with immediate effect. An official spokesperson said, "Mathur has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the IB with immediate effect",
Mathur"s appointment is the first major change in the Intelligence Bureau after the Nov 26 Mumbai terror attacks.
