Pak, India are democracies and they do not go to war: Zardari

Washington, Dec.5 : Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari has said that he does not visualize his country and India going to war, as they are democracies with representatives elected by a popular vote.

"Democracies do not go to war.War is not in our expression of thought." the Dawn quoted Zardari as telling CNN's Larry King.

He said that America went to war against Iraq only in retaliation to "the attack on America".

As far as the past wars between India and Pakistan were concerned, he said they had all taken place when Pakistan was ruled by dictators.
