It was love at first sight for Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes

Washington, Dec 5 : Tom Cruise has revealed that when he first met Katie Holmes he immediately fell for her.

"I knew I wanted to marry Kate when I met her," Usmagazine.com quoted him, as saying in the Dec. 7 issue of T: The New York Times Style Magazine.

The actor also revealed that he bought Holmes an engagement ring shortly after their first date in 2005.

"At one point, I thought she was going to ask me to marry her first and I put her off by changing the subject. I wanted to ask her," Cruise said.

In a separate interview, Holmes, who had a crush on Cruise as a teen, admits she was madly in love with him when they first met.

"He was so warm, and I thought, 'Wow,'" I thought, 'You can be a superstar and a human being,'" she said/

"He made me feel so amazing," she added.

In 2006, Holmes, 29, married Cruise, 46, after a whirlwind courtship. The two are now parents to daughter Suri, 2.
