Its official now; Jayalalithaa-Left join hands for LS polls
Chennai, Dec 5: In a dramatic move AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa on Friday, Dec 5, announced an electoral alliance with the Communist Party of India (Marxist).
Jaya met CPM general secretary Prakash Karat earlier on Friday, Dec 5 to work out the alliance. She had also met senior CPI leader A B Bardhan last week. In a media conference Jayalalithaa said, "We have entered into an electoral alliance with the Left." Earlier there was speculation that Jaya might join the NDA, after she praised Narendra Modi for his leadership qualities. In the past few months AIADMK chief had also met several leaders.
