Pak says diplomatic channel with India operational
Islamabad, Dec 2 : Diplomatic channels between Pakistan and India are fully operational, Foreign Office (FO) spokesman Muhammad Sadiq has said.
He cited meetings between various officials of the two countries as examples of the diplomatic channel being operational.
Sadiq said the special secretary at the Indian External Affairs Ministry received the Pakistani High Commissioner Shahid Malik in New Delhi on Monday, while Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir in Islamabad received the Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan Satyabrata Pal on the same day.
The Daily Times quoted him as saying that similar meetings were also held earlier in the week, and such contacts would continue to exchange views and information on the Mumbai terror attacks.
The spokesman said the Pakistani foreign secretary had condemned the attacks at the meeting with the Indian High Commissioner, and assured India of Pakistan's co-operation.
The secretary also rejected that Pakistan was involved in the Mumbai attacks, the spokesman added.
