Beyonce says she was depressed at 19

London, December 2 : Beyonce Knowles has revealed that she had suffered depression for two years after her pop girl group 'Destiny's Child' had its share of conflicts - because she had been held as the perpetrator.

The R and B diva, along with pals Kelly Rowland, LeToya Luckett and LaTavia Roberson, had formed the band in their pre-teens but faced trouble in 1999 after Roberson and Luckett blamed manager (and Knowles' father) Matthew Knowles for unequal distribution of the profits.

The two, who had claimed breach of contract and fiduciary duties due to Matthew's favouritism over Knowles and Rowland, had been replaced by singers Michelle Williams and Farrah Franklin with the latter too parting with the group, leaving them to continued as a trio.

While many had deemed Beyonce responsible behind the internal conflict and legal turmoil plaguing the band, the 'Crazy In Love' star confessed those days had not been the best of her life.

"For a couple of years when I was 19 I suffered depression," the Daily Star quoted her as saying.
