R R Patil resigns, Vilas Rao decides to resign

New Delhi, Dec 1: On Monday, Dec 1, initial reports are suggesting that Maharashtra Chief Minister, Vilas Rao Deshmukh mounting to political and public pressure hsa decided to quit. But the formal announcement is yet to be made. The next eligible candidature for Mharashtra CM will be decided within 48 hours, reports said.

Also, R R Patil resigned to the post of Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra on Monday, Dec 1. The terror that haunted the commercial city, Mumbai for four days has been an effect of irresponsible act of politicians. This incident has created pressure for resignation of three politicians, Home Minister, Shivraj Patil, Maharshtra CM, Vilas Rao Deshmukh and Maharashtra Dy CM, R R Patil. Shivraj Patil succumbing to pressure from within and outside the party resigned from the post of Home Minister on Sunday, Nov 30.

And now sources say, the heat is on Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh. He is 'almost certain' to be replaced as pressure continues to mount, sources said. However, the man himself is going about his business as usual on Monday, Dec 1 morning.

Meanwhile, Vilasrao and R R Patil are meeting state officials on new task force on security. Meeting will finalise new security plans for state including NSG-like force.

Deshmukh is also meeting the press to announce these steps at 11 am on Monday, Dec 1.
