Britney lifts the lid on marriage break-up hell

London, Dec 1 : Britney Spears has opened up about her marriage break-up hell.

Speaking in a fly-on-the- wall documentary, the singer confessed that she "totally lost her way" before her breakdown and still has "bad days".

'In Britney: For the Record', she says her bad times started with she parted ways with her childhood sweetheart Justin Timberlake in 2002.

"I feel like I handled that break-up. I was devastated, but I handled it a lot better than the one with Kevin Federline," the Sun quoted her, as saying.

"With Kevin, because I had two children with him, I didn't know what to do with myself. He just left me and I was devastated, you know?

"I think I married for the wrong reasons. It just led me on a weird path," she added.

As far as her breakdown, which saw her shave her head and lose custody of her kids is concerned, Britney said: "People thought I was going crazy, but people shave their heads all the time."

However, now, the singer says: "I'm like, 'I'm a smart person, what the hell was I thinking'?"
