Brit kid uses kung-fu skills to floor machete-wielding raider!
London, Dec 1 : A teenager, who is an expert at kung-fu, proved to be too much of a match for a machete-wielding raider, who was threatening his little sister in their holiday flat.
Brit Redmond Lee, 13, is said to have put the masked burglar out of commission with an arm lock and then snatching the 2ft razor-sharp blade from him.
Seeing the intruder holding the weapon over his 11-year-old sister Millina's head, at the luxury Southern Palms beach resort hotel in Barbados, Lee leapt into action.
The crook barely escaped with his life after Lee's mum Benita, 45, threw hot coffee in his face and his dad Dane, 44, who is also a kung-fu expert, threw him out. "I saw this big bloke with a bandana over his face and adrenaline took over," the Sun quoted Redmond, a martial arts student for five years, as saying on November 30.
His dad added: "It was amazing skill and bravery."
The family, from Maidstone, Kent, are suing Virgin Holidays over the scare in April. They claim security was inadequate.
"They accepted counselling and vouchers," a Virgin spokesman said.
