2 killed, 5 injured in road mishap

Kohima, Dec 1 (UNI) At least two persons, including an infant, were killed and five others injured in a road mishap on the National Highway 39, in between Viswema and Jakhama, near here, today.

The accident happened, when the car, in which they were travelling, fell into a deep gorge yesterday.

Official sources said that the ill-fated car was proceeding towards Kohima, when the owner of the vehicle tried to negotiate a sharp turn leading to the mishap.

The driver died on the spot and the infant succumbed to injuries on way to hospital.

The five injured have been admitted to a hospital in Kohima, out of whom two were in critical conditions.

Police have registered a case, sources added.
