Ten killed, three injured in road accident

Pune, Nov 30 (UNI) Altogether ten people were killed and three injured in an accident on Pune-Solapur Highway near Kunde village in Solapur district this morning.

Deputy Superintendent of Police of Solapur region P R Patil told UNI over phone that the accident occurred when a vehicle, carrying the victims, hit a roadside tree after the driver lost control near a hotel at Kunde village, 150 kms from here.

Mr Patil said members of two families were on there way to Tuljapur, a religious place, here adding that the bodies have been sent to Solapur hospital for post-mortem.

''The impact of accident was such that all the ten persons died on the spot, however, three persons, including a three-year-old girl, were safe,'' Mr Patil further said.

The injured have been rushed to a nearby hospital.
