PMK to function as constructive oppn party: G K Mani

Tiruchirapalli, Nov 30 (UNI) Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) president G K Mani, MLA, today said the PMK will function as a constructive Opposition party .

Mr Mani, who was here to receive Vanniyar Sangam president Kaduvetti J Guru, after his release from the Central Prison, said the PMK would function as an effective Opposition party, as was during the previous AIADMK regime.

He also said the PMK High Command will decide on the alliance for the ensuing Lok Sabha polls after the election schedule was announced.

To a question, he said Guru's detention under the NSA in a ''false case'' was totally unwarranted.

Guru denied any political links behind his release. He said even if the government had not released him now, he would would have come out of prison ''automatically in the next seven months.'' UNI RV GM SBC GC1755
