Gujarat Congress hits out at Advani

Ahmedabad, Nov 30 (UNI) The chief spokesperson of Gujarat Pradesh Congress Arjun Modhvadia today termed Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil's resignation, owning moral responsibility for the terror attacks on Mumbai, in keeping with the high tradition of the party.

He said in the past, Congress minister late Madhavrao Scindia had resigned, owning responsibilty for train accidents.

Mr Modhvadia said the Congress demanded an explanation from Senior BJP leader L K Advani as to why he didn't resign as home minister when terrorists attacked Parliament house, Akshardham temple in Gandhinagar and after hijacking an Indian Airlines plane during the NDA rule. However, Mr Advani didn't even own responsibility for the terrorist incidents, though he was home minister at that time, he said.

Mr Modhavadia alleged that politics of both Mr Advani and Chief Minister Narendra Modi had pushed the country towards a dangerous direction. ''The Mumbai terror attacks have exposed original face of both the master and the disciple through their utterances,'' he said.
