'Etta James' role helped Beyonce learn more about herself
Melbourne, Nov 30 : American R and B singer Beyonce has revealed that playing the role of Etta James in the upcoming movie 'Cadillac Records' helped her to learn more about herself.
Beyonce played the part of the great blues, soul, R and B singer James during her drug-addled years.
"I felt like after I played Etta James and I sang these beautiful, emotional, deep, honest songs, I really learned a lot about myself," the Daily Telegraph quoted her as saying.
"And I wanted to make classic music... to grow and make that transition into legendary," she stated. The James role gave her a breakthrough in acting, and she has landed herself another part in the upcoming thriller 'Obsessed', which is due out next year.
