BJP urges Speaker to extend Winter Session
Hyderabad, Nov 30 (UNI) Mr G Kishen Reddy, BJP Floor Leader in State Assembly, today urged Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker K R Suresh Reddy to extend the period of Winter Session to a minimum of 15 days.
In a letter to the Speaker, a copy of which was released to the press here, he said five days for the session was insufficient to discuss ''burning issues.'' A sense of fear had gripped people's minds in the wake of Mumbai terror strikes and farmers were suffering due to non-remunerative price for their produce.
He urged the Speaker to ensure discussion on, among other issues, terrorism, suicide by farmers, handloom weavers and other artisans and price rise.
