BJP on backfoot after Patil's resignation-claims Congress
Jaipur, Nov 30 (UNI) The Congress has dismissed the BJP leadership's criticism over Home Minister Shivraj Patil's resignation and held that the opposition party was suffering from ''guilty conscience'' over Mr Patil's move.
Talking to reporters here today AICC Spokesman Mohan Prakash said that the Manmohan Singh Government at the Centre had exhibited strong stance and action in dealing with terroists strike in Mumbai.
''Our government tackled boldly the situation returning bullet for bullet and achieving the task at Mumbai without bargain, ransom and and release of terrorists'', he said.
Moreover, Home Minister Mr Patil, while resigning from the post also exhibited moral character bringing the political adversaries on backfoot, Mr Prakash said.
The Congress Spokesman also refuted the BJP's claims that the Congress was party to the then NDA Government's decision of releasing and escorting terrorists to Afghanistan.
