Strict vigil in Hubli following Mumbai terror attack

Hubli, Nov 29 (UNI) Following the terror attacks in Mumbai, police kept a strict vigil in this North Karnataka city also known as ''Chhota Mumbai.'' Hubli had witnessed arrests of more than a dozen SIMI activists and suspected LeT operatives like other parts in the region Belgaum and Davangere.

In all 16 suspected activists of SIMI, hailing from the state and Andhra Pradesh are in Belgaum, Bellary and Indore jails. They are facing trial in Hubli District and Sessions Court since several months.

People were aghast over the terror attack on the financial capital. Hubli has a close association with Mumbai on business front. Hundreds of business people visit Mumbai daily making overnight journey for purchases. The city is well-conected to Mumbai.
