Not a single terrorist left in city: Dy CM Patil
Mumbai, Nov 29 (UNI) Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil today confirmed that not a single terrorist was left in the city following completion of 'Operation Cyclone' by NSG commandos at the Taj Mahal Palace.
Speaking to mediapersons at the funeral of martyr Hemant Karkare at Shivaji Park, Mr Patil said a total of 10 terrorists entered the city by sea route and nine of them were killed during the operation while one has been arrested.
Lauding the city police's performance in this hour of crisis, he said the government would strengthen the ATS and provide maximum assistance to make them world's one of the best force.
''Sacrifies of our martyrs' will not go waste. We will see to it that no terrorist will have the courage to enter this great city of ours again,'' he added.
Director General of Police A N Roy said the NSG commandos have gunned down the terrorists in the 59-hour long battle and nabbed one.
The investigating agency is interrogating the arrested militant and would soon be able to get some information.
''Give us some time to get through the case and we are hopeful that we will able to solve the case,'' Mr Roy added.
