NGO to observe gas tragedy anniversary

Bhopal, Nov 29 (UNI) A three-day poster and photo exhibition and cultural programme will be held here from tomorrow to mark the 24th anniversary of Bhopal gas tradgey.

City-based NGO 'Sadbhawana Trust' would also organise a candle light rally from Bharat Cinema to the now closed Union Carbide factory on December 3, according to its spokesperson Dr Amita Gupta.

Dr Gupta told reporters that the trust was working for the gas victims in the last 12 years.

Several thousand people were killed and few lakhs injured after toxic methyl isocyanate gas leaked from the Union Carbide's pesticide factory at the city outskirts on the intervening night of December 2-3, 1984.
