Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 29 (UNI) Stating that the recent terrorist strike in Mumbai was a war against the country, the Congress in Kerala today stressed the need for a Federal Agency to tackle the menace.
Talking to newspersons here, Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Ramesh Chennithala said the state police and security forces alone might not be able to suppress such extremist activities.
Stating that the extremist strikes were aimed at to destroy the country's integrity and development, Mr Chennithala said the entire society should work together to fight against the evil forces.
Since the modus operandi of the extremists had been changed and the number of attacks were increasing, there was a need for opting new strategies and approach to face it, the KPCC Chief said and added that the coordination between the states and the Centre should be strengthened.
