Circle Inspector sent to jail in bribery case

Patna, Nov 29 (UNI) The special vigilance judge S K Panwar remanded judicial custody to a Circle Inspector Santu Kumar Ram of Jehanabad and sent him to the jail for taking bribe here today.

Earlier the vigilance sleuths produced the accused before the designated court during the day. The judge awarded judicial custody to the accused till December 11.

The vigilance sleuths had arrested Santu Kumar Ram, Circle Inspector of Ratni Block when he was taking a bribe of Rs 1,000 at his residence in Professors colony under Jehanabad police station area yesterday.

The officer had demanded bribe from a farmer of Ratni block for preparing land mutation papers.
