Tributes offered to Mumbai attack victims, martyred police officials

Bhopal, Nov 28 (UNI) A two-minute silence was observed at a condolence meeting organised at the Madhya Pradesh police headquarters to pay tributes to police officials and innocent citizens killed in the Mumbai terror attack.

In his address, Director General of Police S K Raut said police as well as people need to remain alert to face the serious challenge of terrorism.

The Madhya Pradesh IPS Association also paid tributes to two senior IPS officers of Madhya Pradesh cadre Hemant Karkare and Ashok Kamte, who were martyred while facing the terrorists.

Mr Raut praised Karkare, Kamte, Inspector Vijay Salaskar, Shashank Shinde and Prakash More, Deputy Inspector Baburao Sahibrao, Assistant Inspector General Nana Saheb Bhonsle and B G Ombade and other police jawans.

Retired police officer and Madhya Pradesh Human Rights Commission member Vijay Shukl and other senior officials presented his views.
