Qureshi parries question on Zardari's 'No First use' remark

New Delhi, Nov 28 (UNI) Visiting Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmud Qureshi today parried questions on President Asif Zardari's declaration of ''no first use'' of nuclear weapons against India made recently.

''Mr Zardari's words reflect the sentiments of the people who now want friendship with India,'' he said when asked to comment on the negative reaction in Pakistan over Mr Zardari's remarks made during the course of his participation in the HT Leadership Summit through video-conferencing.

Mr Qureshi was answering questions at a meet the press programme organised by the Indian Women's Press Corp here this evening He said the present dispensation in Pakistan did not encourage the constituency that advocated an aggressive policy towards India, and that constituency was in minority.

When reminded of the specific question relating to Mr Zardari's ''no first use'' remark, the Pakistan Foreign Minister again avoided any specific comment, saying only that '' we have to create an enabling environment.'' UNI NAZ JT RAI2247
