NHRDN conference focusing on grooming future leaders

Chennai, Nov 28 (UNI) The 12th National Conference of the National Human Resource Development(HRD) Network (NHRDN) began today with the Conference Chairman, S Ramadorai, CEO and Managing Director, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) calling for the Human Resources function to address the need to build leaders not just for today, but for the future, too.

The two-day National Conference was the premier event on the calendar of the National HRD Network, a not-for-profit association of Human Resources professionals, a company release here said.

"This year's Conference in the city brings together over 700 delegates, representing nearly 400 organisations not only from all over India, but also from 11 other countries around the world", it said.

Delivering the address, Mr Ramadorai said, "HR should focus on understanding the new behaviours required to thrive in the new environment".

The CEO and MD reminded the audience that HR professionals first need to become change leaders themselves before institutionalising this into their respective organisations.

He also emphasised that the current crisis, which had raised questions about ethical leadership, must be seen as an opportunity for HR professionals to conduct themselves in a manner, which reflects the values of the organisations.
