Mumbai terror: PM reviews situation

Mumbai, Nov.28 : A high-level meeting has taken place in Mumbai to review the situation in the city in the wake of the planned and synchronized terrorist strikes attacks. The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, presided over the meeting. National Security Adviser M K Narayanan, top state government and police officials of Maharashtra, senior army, paramilitary and intelligence officials were also present at the meeting.

The meeting discussed immediate steps to be taken and also the measures to be taken in the long term to prevent such incidents. UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil also undertook a quick tour of Mumbai and met Maharashtra Governor S C Jamir and Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh.

Prior to the meeting, Singh, Gandhi and Patil visited J. J Hospital to enquire about the welfare of injured.
