MNF Minister ''punches'' Congress worker

Aizawl, Nov 28 (UNI) Sitting Mizo National Front (MNF) Minister and party candidate for Lunglei South Z H Ropuia allegedly hit a Congress worker at Lunglei yesterday, sources said here today.

Lunglei district Youth Congress quoted the alleged victim, C Lalnunpuia, as saying he and a few friends were sitting inside a parked vehicle, singing the Congress campaign anthem when the car-borne Minister passed by.

The Minister got down from his car and allegedly uttered abusive words, and an exchange of heated words followed.

Lalnunpuia sustained eye injuries when the Minister ''punched'' him while his friend received scratching marks on his face, the Congress sources said.
