Misfire by constable triggers panic at CST
Mumbai, Nov 28 (UNI) Misfire by a police constable triggered panic in the city, sparking rumours of fresh firing by terrorists at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST), official sources said.
The sound of firing made alarmed people in the vicinity run helter-skelter, following which the railway authorities suspended the local train services on the main line and Harbour line of the central railways.
Chief Secretary Johnny Joseph confirmed that the rumour of firing spread because of ''misfire'' by a constable.
The Railway authorities also clarified that had been no firing by the terrorists, and train services were resumed after a gap of 15 to 20 minutes.
