Maharashtra: Hotels under extra security cover

Pune, Nov 28: Amid high alert in the city, security agencies are keeping a close eye on the luxury hotels and guest houses, after terrorists chose to besiege the iconic Taj and Trident Hotels in Mumbai.

Heavy patrolling is being carried out at indulgences such as Taj Blue Diamond, Sun n Sand and Le Meridien to avert any untoward incident, Senior Police Inspector Suhas Nadgauda said.

Strict vigil at main entrances with metal detectors, tight security at the corridors and open spaces, along with Close Circuit Television cameras at every nook and corner of various hotels, are part of the precautionary measures.

''Though we check all documents of the guests as a part of the security measures, including the vehicles that check in and check out on a daily basis, Now we are more alert,'' Le Meridien Human Resources and Security Manager Nitin Jadhav said.
