Britain's 'Josef Fritzl' still believes they were one big happy family

London, Nov 28 : The 'British Josef Fritzl', who admitted to repeatedly raping his two daughters and getting them pregnant 19 times, has claimed: "We were one big happy family."

In a shocking letter, the dad, who's currently in cell, said he could not understand how he had ended up with 25 life sentences, reports the Daily Star.

The 56-year-old monster, nicknamed The Gaffer, insisted that before police swooped he was "getting on well" with his daughters and their seven surviving children.

And he added: "All that has come out of this is a long sentence for me. We were all getting on well before this came out. What went wrong? My daughters have got something out of this - kids! What have I got? I haven't got any regrets. It's too late for that. It should not have happened."

The horrific case of the Brit man has been compared with Austrian fiend Josef Fritzl, 73, who kept his daughter Elisabeth, now 42, locked in a dungeon for 24 years, fathering seven children with her.

On Tuesday, the Englishman was sentenced to 25 life sentences.

He had admitted 25 rapes and four indecent assault charges - but cops believe one girl was raped more than a thousand times.

The rapes started when the girls were aged about eight. The abuse only ended in February this year when police finally arrested the father.
